I cannot believe we are starting a Texan August and it isn’t 100*; Nonetheless, we definitely still enjoy a good pool day!

Although, Lili & Seri have a pool at their home, the UTTyler pool is worth the drive!

The pool has so many fun elements, including a large hot tub, whirl pool, basketball goal, volleyball net, and sprays near the shallow end.

The pool also has lap lanes available

No jets/vortex during these times if lap swimmers are present.

Designated lap swimming times:

6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. / Noon – 1:00 p.m. / 5:00 – 6:15 p.m.

There are also plenty of lounge chairs and very large canopy umbrellas for a relief of shade when you need a break from the sun.

We captured the girls exploring (of course) while their sun screen dried, but more importantly, look have beautifully manicured the lawn is! This is definitely a reflection of how the pool is maintained, very clean.

We spent at least 5 hours baking in the sun and enjoying ourselves! And once you finish swimming to hearts content, the locker rooms are available for you to shower & get dressed.

The girls favorite had to be the whirl pool! Abigayle had a lot of fun “fishing” for Seri, haha!

The UTTyler pool is also available for parties as well! Contact Ph: 903.566.7466 for more information!

Family Movie Matinee at the Public Library Tyler, Texas

Family Movie Matinee

Tyler Public Library

201 S College Ave, Tyler, TX 75702

(903) 593-7323

What a jackpot we found! Every third Saturday of the month the Tyler Public Library offers a FREE movie matinee for the whole family from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM!

….and as you can see, we were not the only ones excited about seeing an afternoon movie. Our little adventurers couldn’t wait to get inside and make a pallet.

Last Saturday we lucked out with Pete’s Dragon, Abigayle and I hadn’t ever seen it before. I think this was a great pick for multiple ages.

In the library’s auditorium they have a large screen that projects onto the wall which makes you feel like you’re right at the movies. Better than the movies though, you can bring all the cozy pillows, blankets, and “Sparkly Eyed Animals” your heart desires. We even took off our shoes to maximize comfort 🙂

You are also welcome to bring snacks and drinks inside. However, if you run out or forgot yours, there are drink and snack vending machines conveniently right outside. I wish we would have gotten to the auditorium a little early so we could get settled before the movie began.

This matinee movie was just how we like it, BYOS (Bring your own stuff), not many rules, and extremely enjoyable.

ALSO.. If you are like Lili & I, full time college students, it is always nice to know that the library offers free WiFi. So you can bring homework, work, or feed your love of Pinterest while your kiddos are entertained.

However, not having my laptop was a good excuse to enjoy cuddles with these two cuties.

AND, the sweet lady at the library informed us that EVERY MORNING during Spring Break week they will be showing a movie from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM. Movies like Moana, Secret Life of Pets, Finding Dory, and more!

Once you’re finished with the movie, you can trot over to the library with tons of books. And what is better than a movie and a good book?

  • Pillows
  • Blankets
  • Snacks / Drinks
  • Change for vending machines
  • Bring homework/work
  • Get there a bit early to get settled
  • Your library card (only if you check out books after)

Definitely mark your calendars to come enjoy one of these family matinee movies!

Parent’s Night Out at Rockett Allstarz Tyler, Texas

6:00 PM-9:00 PM

$15/Child – Ages 4+

Need to grocery shop in peace, date night, or sushi with your girlfriend? Rockett Allstarz has the answer! Coach Abby Rockett provides a fun, safe environment for kiddos to run off TONS of energy!

These little cuties had no idea just how much fun they were in for!

They started the evening off with a homemade obstacle course that the girls ran, jumped, rolled and giggled through about 100 times. Only a gym could have the funnest pads, mats and accessories to make not only an awesome obstacle course, but clubhouse as well

They practiced their tumbling skills. Even flipping their feet all by themselves! Abby has been teaching girls of all ages to tumble and dance for several years now and thoroughly enjoys watching the kiddos learn!

Seri perfected her gymnastics bar flip and Abi got to try it for the first time with help from Coach Abby! Both girls cheering the other on!

Most fun of all, Coach Abby & Cassie fashioned a homemade slide! Up and down and up and down the girls went.

(I think by the 1000th run they were rethinking that decision, haha!)

They even had a pizza party!! Which is included in the $15 fee!

Lili and I stayed for awhile, but got to actually enjoy a sushi date too! No, neither one of us can believe our girlies are old enough to have an adventure without us.. but it is comforting to know that they had an absolute BLAST!

You always worry about your kiddos when you aren’t with them. But this Parent’s Night Out is all about activity, fun and laughter. Your kids won’t sit in front of a TV all night, they will learn new tricks, perfect old ones and run until they’re sweaty! Needless to say… Our babies slept well that night!

  • The GPS doesn’t take you to the gym. Turn at the blinking light on Grande road (left if headed West, right if going East) it’s the first buildings on the left! (There is a sign)
  • Play clothes
  • Tennis shoes & socks
  • $15 (cards also accepted)
  • Make sure to sign the waver with contact info
  • Water bottle-Bc they WILL sweat. (but there is also a fountain)

All our love,

The Adventurers
