Need a last minute costume idea??
These Grannies take the cake!
It is an easy DIY costume that you can complete with most things from your home!
Not to mention the amount of laughter all night long…
For the hair…
If you can find/borrow a cheap wig, that is the easiest way!
However, you can definitely get a granny effect from some rollers around the house and white color hair spray (we lucked out at Goodwill)! You can also use some of the white spray to lighten the eyebrows.
For the makeup…
The makeup is super simple! Draw a few squiggly “wrinkles” on the forehead and around the smile creases, blend them with a lighter foundation or powder, & slap on a red lip! Viola!
For the glasses…
We found some Lost and Found readers at my job & cut some Mardi Gras beads from the Dollar Tree and tied them to the edges of the frames.
For the outfit…
We found dresses in the girls’ closet, white Keds ($5 @ Walmart), frilly socks, and a belt. This is really quite easy to muster up in the closet.
For the voluptuous lady parts…
Lili is basically a genious.. she took some stockings and stuffed socks into each leg portion and the wrapped it around the girls’ neck to create the tatas 😉
And for the hilarious rump, she put some bloomers on the girls and stuffed them with tshirts (one for each cheek, hehe)
For the Accessories…
For the “cane” we used some toy golf clubs and for the trick or treat bag a couple of the 1 million canvas bags we had around the house!
All in all, this is probably the most hilarious things we’ve ever done. You will not regret all of the laughter at the end of these costumes!
All our love,
The Adventurers!
